Why did Mark Zuckerberg Learn Chinese(Mandarin)?

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of social media giant Facebook has learned mandarin language which is being spoken most of the part of China. But, why did Mark Zuckerberg learn Chinese(Mandarin).

Facebook Inc. that currently owns Instagram and WhatsApp has more than 2 billion active users all over the world.

If we consider all the users including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, there are more than 2.7 billion active users. That means Facebook Inc, the social media giant has the data of 2.7 billion people!

The ‘face’ of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg owns more than 400 million shares of the company that includes 78.9% of control rights. His net worth is around $65 billion.

Despite having the largest social media in the world and the owner of a billion-dollar company, Mark learned the Mandarin language.

Why Mark Zuckerberg learned Chinese:

1. His wife is from China:

This should be the number one reason.

Well, Chinese people don’t like to learn all the languages that are being spoken in European countries and in America.

That’s why Zuckerberg learned Mandarin to build communication with his wife’s family.

2. Facebook is Banned in China:

Do you know?

Many of the American technology companies are banned in China and Facebook is also one of them.

Facebook got banned in China in 2009.

Pricilla Chan(Wife of Zuckerberg) is from China. That’s why the founder of Facebook is also very popular in China. But, he was not able to communicate with the people of China because most of them don’t understand English.

He learned Mandarin so that he can communicate with the people of China and the politicians of China as well.

By doing this, his aim is to remove the ban on Facebook in China.

We all know that China has the world’s highest population. The technology business in China has been also increasing for the last 10 years.

If he manages to remove the ban on Facebook in China, there would be more than 4 billion users of Facebook. That’s 50% of the total population of the world.
