The highly popular entertainment application TikTok is famous among the teenagers and youngsters. It is providing the services such as video creation, messaging and live broadcasting.
Now, Let’s go back to the beginning.
TikTok was founded by Alex Zhu and Luyu Yang. Basically, they wanted to create an educational app that provides short videos for each and every subject or topic.
After working for almost 6 months, the idea totally failed! They were not able to gain more users. Then both the co-founders decided to change the business industry.
They have less money left to save the company that’s why they have decided to enter the entertainment industry. In 2015, the company was finally able to attract US teenager and it became famous worldwide.

As I have discussed above, the main target audience was teenagers and youngsters.
It is very common in tech business that if any product is liked by the people of the United States, the world will follow that trend and business growth will become exponential. That’s what happened with Musical.ly.

People loved the new concept of video editing, messaging and live broadcasting. As many youngsters started using TikTok, Hollywood celebrities started creating their small video content.
The application was highly creative than other video creating apps such as Instagram and Snapchat. The best features of this app are soundtracks, magical effects, categories, hashtags, filters etc.
For gaining more users company started promoting their content( videos created by users of TikTok) on Facebook and Instagram.
Now, it is not only used by Hollywood celebrities but also used by most of the actors, models, Influencers, Youtubers and sportspersons.
According to Wikipedia, TikTok has reached 500 million users by the end of May, 2018.

If people are spending more time watching videos on TikTok then it is becoming a part of social networking.
As a social media giant, Facebook should think to buy TikTok so that it can easily connect advertisers with Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
